FALL 2011 at DeSoto Arts!   

We are very excited to present our FALL 2011 line-up of exhibits ... FREE TO THE PUBLIC!

3D ART AND CRAFTSMEN EXHIBIT  On display in the gallery September 10 through October 22.  View this fine collection of local pottery, sculpture, basketry and wood carved items.

OCTOBER 1
3RD ANNUAL FIBER TO FABRIC FAIR  10:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Banks House Gallery  Fiber artists from Mississippi and beyond will bring their animals, spinning wheels and looms to demonstrate the process of dying virgin wool and making fine fabrics. 
Yarns and woven good for sale!  Great pre-holiday gift ideas.  This is your stop for local, natural fiber yarns to start your own knitting project.

SACRED HARP DESOTO  3:00 - 5:00 p.m.  Make a joyful noise!  Join in the singin' ... or just sit back and let the ringing acapella voices fill the Banks House grand salon in four-part harmony.  Sacred Harp singers from DeSoto County, Memphis, Oxford, and West Memphis come together to pay tribute to one of the oldest forms of American music.  Loaner Sacred Harp hymnals will be on hand.  For more info on Sacred Harp visit  www.fasola.org

DESOTO ARTS TRIBUTE TO NATIVE AMERICAN MONTH
NOV 12   "Native Splendour"  Fund Raiser for Chickasaw Trails Heritage Association   Enjoy this reception and display of local artists' tributes to DeSoto County's Native American heritage.  $35/couple  $25/individual

NOV 13    WINTER SHOW OPENS:  HOLIDAY OPEN HOUSE  Meet the artists and view the new art exhibit.

NOV 18    MURDER at the MANSION!!!  Tickets on sale now!  Sponsored by Smith, Phillips, Mitchell, Scott and Nowak, LLP   Catered by BLUE DAZE BISTRO, Grapevine Liquors, & Clark Beverage Group.  WHO DONE IT?  Prizes for best sleuth and best Victorian costume.
